Masjid Arrahman honours Sister Rabab As-Sadr and donates $65,000 to Imam Sadr Foundation in Lebanon through Project Lebanon 2019.

Masjid Arrahman hosted a reception on Sunday 15th December in honour of Sister Rabab As-Sadr- sister of Imam Musa As-Sadr and President of the Imam Sadr Foundation in Lebanon- and accompanying delegation which included Mrs. Maliha Musa As-Sadr- daughter of Imam Musa As-Sadr and Mr. Najad Sharrafeddine- son of Sister Rabab As-Sadr and General Manager of Imam Sadr Foundation.

The reception was attended by former Mufti of Australia Sheikh Taj El-Din Hilaly, political and community figures and members of the Australian Muslim community.

After a heart-soothing recitation by Qari Sheikh Mohammad Harbi, Imam of Masjid Arrahman His Eminence Sheikh Youssef Nabha addressed the reception by welcoming the guests and expressing his reverence and honour towards sister Rabab As-Sadr and Sister Maliha As-Sadr for the legacy they uphold.
Sheikh Youssef Nabha considered that the humanitarian, pioneering and scientific path of Sister Rabab As-Sadr constitutes a true model for the successful woman and leader in this era. His Eminence shone a spotlight on Imam As-Sadr at the leadership, scientific, independent reasoning and social level considering that his reasoning and approach to issues formed a unique model. His Eminence also called for re-reading Imam As-Sadr as to benefit from his intellectual and scientific heritage.
Sheikh Taj El-Din also addressed the reception about the dire need to unite as Muslims to achieve justice and development amongst Muslims amidst a distorted and misinterpreted image of Islam.

Sister Rabab As-Sadr then addressed the reception with heart-warming and sincere words thanking Masjid Arrahman and the community for their reception. Sister Rabab spoke about the inspiring work of Imam al-Sadr’s institutions in Lebanon and the responsibility it carries at the level of advancing the human being and working to mobilize the potentials of generations and enhancing their scientific capabilities, competencies and skills as Imam Musa As-Sadr wanted. Sister Rabab said, “Imam Sayyed Musa As-Sadr used to advise me that work requires perfection, excellence and sincerity”.
Sister Rabab thanked Masjid Arrahman and the community for their support and expressed her pleasure in being amongst the community at this reception and the love and reverence she holds for Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (r.a.).

At the end, Sheikh Youssef Nabha presented Sister Rabab As-Sadr with a donation of $65,000 on behalf of Masjid Arrahman and the Australian Muslim community which will go towards the Imam Sadr Foundation in Lebanon as part of Project Lebanon 2019.

The reception concluded with a lunch in honour of the distinguished guests.
